| WILLIAM KENNEDY Speaks out on Abuse in the Church here at Burlington News/Talk About It! Columnist for Burlington News The priest sex scandal in the Roman Catholic Church has sent shockwaves throughout the world. On this site William Kennedy takes you into the world of Devil worship and arcane sexual rites practiced by priests of the Church of Rome. William Kennedy, author of "Lucifer's Lodge" will expose their sick careers and how they have violated our children and trust of their parents. In the program below, Mary Sutherland discusses with William Kennedy, some of the following topics: The assassination of Wisconsin Priest , Father Sean Fortune of Ireland who raped children in a haunted house and threatened detractors with magical hexes, Father Frederick Ryan who tattooed a boy with a devil figure and then raped him, Father Bernard Lane who sexually abused homeless boys in a ritual chamber called The Black Room, et al. After listening to the show, we encourage you to purchase Mr. Kennedy's book, 'Lucifer’s Lodge'. It is not for the faint hearted and is certainly not for children. It constitutes a world far more morbid, sadistic and frightening than anything that the creative novels of an H.P. Lovecraft or a Stephen King could ever hope to conjure. | Abuse allegations led to murder charge against Ohio priest for 1980 death Associated Press @2000 A woman's allegations that Roman Catholic priests sexually abused her during bizarre rituals led police to re-examine the 1980 killing of a nun and later charge one of the priests with murder. The woman's allegations were not substantiated but one priest she mentioned was the Rev. Gerald Robinson - a suspect in the nun's killing years ago. Robinson, 66, was charged Friday with killing Sister Margaret Ann Pahl, who was strangled and stabbed about 30 times on April 5, 1980. Her body was found in a hospital chapel, surrounded by lit candles with her arms folded across her chest. Robinson and Pahl had worked together for several years at Mercy Hospital. Robinson, the hospital's chaplain, performed the funeral for Sister Pahl, 71. Robinson made an initial appearance Monday in Toledo Municipal Court. Judge Mary Trimboli set bail at $200,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for next Monday. No plea was entered and Robinson did not speak during the brief court session. After the hearing, friends and supporters of the priest were trying to raise bail money, said Robinson's attorney, John Thebes. "I think he's over the initial shock," Thebes said. He said he expects the case to be presented to a grand jury this week. He said the case would be difficult to prosecute. "Witnesses die, witnesses' memories become faded over time," he said. "Twenty-four years is a heck of a long time. It's difficult to ascertain who was where, who said what. There are many, many issues that have to be delved into." Police detective Steve Forrester and Tom Ross, an investigator with the Lucas County prosecutor's office, told The Blade newspaper that the nun's killing was part of a "ceremony" in the chapel. They would not elaborate. In December, authorities re-examined old evidence and concluded that the murder weapon, which they did not identify, was "in the control of the suspect." They used "blood transfer patterns," a rarely used technique that analyzes the patterns made when an item is laid down. DNA evidence was not a factor, Forrester said. A message seeking additional comment was left with Ross on Sunday. The woman whose allegations led to the reopening of the case testified before the Diocesan Review Board on June 11 and wrote a detailed statement alleging years of abuse by priests during her childhood. "She did mention Father Robinson and that he was involved in the ritualistic abuse of her," said Claudia Vercelloti, a director of the Toledo office for Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests and has been in contact with the woman. The woman, now in her 40s, described satanic ceremonies in which priests placed her in a coffin filled with cockroaches, forced her to ingest what she believed to be a human eyeball and penetrated her with a snake "to consecrate these orifices to Satan." She also alleged that the clerics killed an infant and a 3-year-old child, performed an abortion on her and mutilated dogs during the rituals, according to a copy of her statement. Before his arrest, Robinson was performing pastoral care at nursing homes and hospitals in the Toledo area, the Toledo diocese said. Vercelloti said on Sunday that the woman did not know that Robinson had been a suspect in Sister Pahl's killing. "I don't know if she knew what she was setting in motion," she said. The woman's allegations were brought to the attention of prosecutors in a letter received in December, assistant prosecutor Gary Cook said Monday. He would not say who sent the letter. The diocese had decided against giving the allegations to authorities, said Sally Oberski, a diocese spokeswoman. "They were found to be non-credible," she said Sunday. The allegations were against several priests and Robinson's "name was mentioned among several others." Vercelloti said the diocese should have given the information to police and prosecutors because Robinson had been a suspect in the nun's death. --- On the Net: http://www.toledodiocese.org |
| Church ritual -- religious or sexual? By Robert W. Black Associated Press writer WHEATLAND -- Parishioners at a small-town church who took part in a secret ritual where they were stripped, hung upside down and whipped were tricked into participating by a Catholic priest seeking sexual gratification, a prosecutor said Monday. "There's not an issue that they were doing this stuff, and there's really not much of an issue about what they were doing," Platte County Attorney Eric Alden said. "So the question is, was this trickery or is this a legitimate ritual recognized by the church? "And the other issue was, is this somehow for sexual gratification? And there was testimony to indicate that it might have been." But a defense attorney said those who took part in the practice more than 15 years ago may have faulty memories about intent behind the ritual, which he maintains was strictly religious. Fraternity initiations, Marine Corps training, sports teams, certain African societies and many others employ similar rituals, "and nobody thinks it's anything sexual," attorney Dallas Laird said. Anthony Jablonowski, 67, of Waterford, Ohio, pleaded no contest Thursday to a charge of molesting a 17-year-old boy in Guernsey in 1982 and was sentenced to between 15 months and seven years in prison. The case against Jablonowski, who served St. Anthony Catholic Church in Guernsey from 1980-88, stemmed from reports the Diocese of Cheyenne received about his behavior. The church notified Platte County Attorney Eric Alden about a year ago, and he asked the state Division of Criminal Investigation to look into the matter. Agents later would learn of allegations that Father Tony, as he was known to many, had molested a teenager in Guernsey. Several men told agents about rituals in the basement of the church about that time. Three said the ceremonies were sexual, not religious. "One of them would be the 'penitent' and sometimes it would be the priest and sometimes it would be one of the individuals," Alden said. "The penitent would be gagged with a bandanna, and a piece of rope tied over their mouth, and they were blindfolded. Their hands and feet were tied, and then cords or ropes of some nature were tied around their genitals and were tied in a particular pattern, and there were prayers made with each wrap." A type of winch would hoist the person, who was hanging upside down, and then the man would be whipped. "As the person would be whipped, they would be told to focus on their prayers," Alden said. "I think by overcoming the pain and suffering, it was some type of cleansing-type thing." The challenge for Alden was determining whether the acts were religious or sexual. One of the three men who came forward said he had participated in the ritual about a half-dozen times. "Every time the stuff would get more extreme, the beatings with the whip would be more extreme -- there would be more ornate stuff with it," Alden said. "Finally there was one time when he was hung up and blindfolded ... and he felt the priest rubbing his bearded face on his genitals. "And at that point in time, he sort of said, 'No more."' The three men believe they "had been tricked into doing these things by being informed by the priest that these would enhance the power of their prayers," Alden said. He feels strongly that he had evidence to charge Jablonowski with felonious restraint, third-degree sexual assault and battery. But as part of the plea agreement, Alden agreed to drop the charges in exchange for a plea to indecent liberties involving the teenager. Alden said the 17-year-old was struggling with being gay and had developed a trust of Jablonowski. One summer evening he stopped by the rectory where Jablonowski fondled him and performed a sexual act on him, Alden said. Laird said Jablonowski denies the charge of molestation, but because of his oath, he pleaded no contest. "He could not get up on the stand and talk about any of these matters which were confident or private matters of penance, matters of confession," he said. District Judge John Brooks received more than 150 cards and letters of support for Jablonowski from all over the country, including Lander, where he was priest of the Holy Rosary Church from 1988-91. Laird, of Casper, said Jablonowski maintains "nothing he did was sexual." "He admits doing spiritual and religious rituals, called prayers of penance," Laird said. "I mean, he's said that he has done that, but the adults that took part in it, there were at least two of the adults who believe there wasn't anything sexual to it. ... I've had calls from people this morning saying they wished they had heard about this because they would have come down to tell the judge it wasn't sexual." The participants in the ritual tied their own genitals, according to reports he had seen, Laird said. Because genitals are so sensitive, manipulating them in rituals -- religious or otherwise -- is a way for a person to show spiritual or other types of strength, he said. An official with the Diocese of Cheyenne, which serves Roman Catholics in Wyoming, said they were stunned by reports of the ritual. "I've never heard of anything like this before," said the Rev. Michael Carr, vicar general. "It's nothing that I've known the church to have any involvement with and what I've heard about it is nothing that I could ever imaging the church approving ... so it was a shock." The church is encouraging victims to seek counseling and helping in whatever way possible, he said. Laird said Jablonowski, who had been living in an Ohio monastery most recently, has not been removed from the priesthood, although he cannot take part in some activities, such as conducting Mass. CANTERBURY UK..Investigaton Pending William Kennedy As part of my on going investigation I have come accross the fact the Canterbury, England Police were complicit in the protection of pedophile priests at the Franciscan International Studies Centre in Kent. Three ex-seminarians tell me that the secretary of the Centre had a husband who was on the Kent Police Force. When one of these seminarians went to the police to report that one of the brothers who was transfered from Latin America was openly bragging about raping children, the police sent the husband of the Centre secretary to take the report. The other two likewise had bad experiences with this same policeman when they went to report similar crimes. The seminarians refused to press charges out of fear. I have sent the Kent Police several letters none of which had been answered. Maybe you could look into getting some police rep from Canterbury on your radio show with me to discuss this situation and give their side. Invite a polie rep on the show and here is the e mail for the Kent Police. Its worth a try. enquires@kent.pnn.police.uk Letter sent o Kent Police: enquires@kent.pnn.police.uk Dear Sirs, I am a freelance journalist in the United States and am requesting an interview on the radio in the USA with a media rep from the Canterbury police station. This is in relation to the priest pedophile scandal. I have three soures which claim that they were intimidated by the Canterbury Police when they went to report sexual harassment and the protecting of pedophiles at the Franciscan Studies Center in Canterbury. I will not reveal my sources of course but I will give their testimonies. One former seminarian claims that when he went to report the shifting of a pedophile at the seminary to the Canterbury Police station the officer sent out to take the report was related to one of the clerical staff at the seminary. (He chose not to file charges) Another claims that when he went to reprt an attempted rape at the Canterbury Police station the same relative was sent to out to take the report! (he chose not to file charges) A third claims that when he threatened to inform on the seminary the same officer threatened him at the seminary after Mass the following Sunday. I will be reporting this on nationally syndicated radio in the USA and wanted to give your office a chance to come on air with me and address these charges. However, I will report these allegations on air with or without a Canterbury media rep. Regards, William H Kennedy Hi Mary, Below is the reply I got from the Canterbury UK police when I invited a media rep on to answer the question as to whether the spouse of a Kent police officer was working at the local Franciscan Seminary. This was to confirm if the testimonies of the three former seminarins is true. If they confirm this employment status than that would give their claims validity. You notice that the answer is not form their media office nor does it answer the question as to the employment status of the sspouse. You don't need to read much between the lines that they are asking for the names of the three men who came forward and nothing else. I will not supply them with these names as God only knows what will happen to these men I will take their names to my grave seeing as they did not naswer the question. BTW, I checked with a lawyer and that British legal notice at the bottom does not apply in the US because we made no prior arrangment to keeps things confidental and I did not directly contact this special unit division. I have invited Dective Inspector Martin Lyddon on the radio to answer the question and was wondering if you would e mail him and invite him on too. Now I play hardball Mary and maybe you don't want to get involved and I will understand if you decline the following offer I made Lyddon which I doubt he will take anyway. I said that he could have a whole hour with Fr Joseph O'Hanlon if the seminary to come on for an hour and denounce me and even said I woud give them the number of some old girlfriends of mine in England who would come on and tell of my playboy days as a younger man. I am 40 now and quite dull. This is in reply to a veiled threat that O'Hanlon made to expose the fact that I used to date allot when I lived in London - a fact he got from an old professor of mine. I don't care if he does I am and was single and what consenting adults do is their own business. I even called two dingbats I used to run with to come on the radio with him to denounce me. The only condition is that they have to answer yes or no as to whether a spouse of a Kent Police Officer worked at the seminary in the 1990s. If the answer is yes than this points to a cover-up and pedophile cabal which supports the seminarians statments. |
