| Mary Sutherland doesn't just believe in ghosts. She sees them , takes photos of them and has made it her life's work to spread the word that there are other worlds, other dimensions, other life forms. From her tiny, cluttered storefront office on North Pine Street in downtown Burlington, Sutherland researches chronicles and writes, operating as the Burlington UFO and Paranormal Center. She broadcasts around the world on the internet as BUFO Radio (www.burlingtonnews.net), bringing in experts on paranormal activity to chat with her listeners. Sutherland refers to her work as the study of interdimensional Science, but claims she's not looking to sensationalize her ideas, theories and discoveries. Rather, she hopes to give her work credibility, reaching a wide audience with her calm, rational and, yes, scientific explanations of the unexplainable. "I work with physicists, scientists and photographers to help spread the truth," she says. "I contact the experts because I want credibility for my work." Sutherland warns against inexperienced people ghosthunting on their own and offers group tours of local haunts, as well as guided ghost hunts. She cautions that it is possible to unleash something for which you are not prepared. "This is a very real world and there are entities we don't see with our eyes, " she says.
