| UFO OVER WASHINGTON D.C. APRIL 27 2005 Does anyone have any more information on this??? Seems highly unlikely that the military could not tell the difference between a flock of birds and an aircraft. ...and if it was just a flock of birds as they report - why in the world would they have an 'ongoing' investigation. According to last weeks interview with Sheldon Nidle, we were expecting something like this to happen within this time frame. Lets keep our eyes open on this one. We received a Yahoo instant messenge from Linzee as follows: linzee13901: Hi , I just saw a segment on CBS news 10 minutes ago. It clearly showed a blimp on radar over the White House. 3 military helicopters were dispatched but the object disappeared when they got to it. The news reporter is calling the radar blimp a "Ghost" blimp. I went on the CBS news website for more info on the story...and sure enough...there is _nothing_ about it on the site and yet they reported the panic it caused on the east lawn. I'll try to find more info on this. Thanks, Monarca Lynn We also received this in as instant message: elven_youkai: Do you have any idea what flew over the white house that sent George Bush underground? Following is the Reuters report. Other than that - there has been a total blackout on any information concerning the pres and vice pres hitting the bunkers yesterday. You would think that would be a top news item wouldn't you???? Mary Sutherland yahoo im us at burlingtonnews or contact us at burlingtonnews@yahoo.com Photo is provided by Reuters as a reporter was trying to get information on this sighting. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush was hustled from the Oval Office and into an underground shelter on Wednesday after a blip on a radar screen was initially mistaken for an aircraft entering the restricted airspace around the White House, officials said. The Secret Service determined minutes later that it was a false alarm. A flock of birds or a reflection could have caused the blip. Officials said the investigation was ongoing. (Why would they be having an ongoing investigation over a flock of birds???) Vice President Dick Cheney also was moved to a secure location as Secret Service agents, some with shotguns drawn, cleared the area in front of the presidential mansion. White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was in the underground bunker for a "very short amount of time." He said he believed it was the first time Bush had been taken to the shelter since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. "There were some precautionary measures that were taken. It was quickly learned that it was a false alarm and that all was clear in a very short amount of time," McClellan said. "Everything is fine." Officials blamed the incident on a blip that appeared on a radar screen. Helicopters sent up to investigate quickly verified that there was no errant aircraft. "Out of an abundance of caution, appropriate security measures were taken," said Brian Roehrkasse, a Homeland Security Department spokesman. This came in this morning - April 28th- from one of our Ancient Mysteries MS members, Laura Held From: LAURA A HELD Date: Thu Apr 28, 2005 7:54 am Subject: Re: [ancientmysteriesms] UFO OVER WHITEHOUSE YESTERDAY I just read in the paper that they actually moved bush and cheney to a bunker. They relocated a white house tour, and evacuated a near by park. I thought of a ufo too when I heard this. Laura This also came in this morning- April 28th from Raymond Fowler and Friends: HI, QUITE A CLOUD THAT WOULD PUT A SOLID BLIP ON RADAR MANNED BY "EXPERT OPERATORS". CLOUDS PASS OVER THE CAPITAL DAILY. WAS THIS A COVER UP OF AN UNIDENTIFIED SOLID OBJECT? WHO KNOWS. I REMEMBER THE 1952 SIGHTINGS AND JET CHASES OF OBJECTS OVER WASHINGTON WERE EXPLAINED TO THE PUBLIC AS RADAR TARGETS CAUSED BY TEMPERATURE INVERSION. HOWEVER, WHEN OFFICIAL FILES WERE RELEASED YEARS LATER, THE OBJECTS WERE UNIDENTIFIED. I INTERVIEWED HARRY BARNES, THE CHIEF RADAR OPERATOR YEARS LATER. HE SAID THAT THE OBJECTS WERE SOLID AND UNDER INTELLIGENT CONTROL. WHEN JETS APPEARED ON THE SCENE, THEY DOVE BELOW THE JETS OPERATING CAPABILITY AND THEN ROSE UP AND FLEW AROUND THE CAPITAL WHEN THE JETS RAN LOW ON FUEL AND LEFT THE AREA. COULD THIS BE A REPEAT. ONE WOULD THINK THAT CLOUDS WOULD ALWAYS BE CAUSING SUCH ALERTS IF THIS WERE A CLOUD! SEE BELOW. Checking the weather at Reagan National, 9 AM, wind was FROM the N @ 9 10 AM, NW 11 11 AM, NNW 16 Noon, N 11. That cloud must have had power!! April 28th - Morning - Jerry Pippin, jerrypippin.com sent this ABC AUDIO into us with on the scene reporting of the ufo over Washington D.C. with a later explanation from White House Spokesman. Click Here to Listen Thank you Jerry Pippin. April 29th - Morning - Raymond Fowler, raymondfowler.com, forwarded this to me this morning . Thanks Ray! HI, FYI BEST, RAY Joan W. wrote: ><snip> that cloud must have had power. Agreed, Joan. Although it's true that wind direction can vary with altitude, the fact is that clouds themselves are rarely picked up by radar unless they are very dense (the precipitation is). Also, the "cloud" was supposedly moving at about the "speed of a helicopter". Since clouds rarely move faster than 50 mph, (usually around 30 mph) that's a rather slow helicopter. Finally, all the radar operators had to do was change the vertical tilt of the radar by a degree or two to determine whether this was a cloud or aircraft. A cloud picked up by radar should still be there, while a much smaller aircraft would disappear. --Chaz SMEAR MAGAZINE Throughout the years, most UFO researchers have been strongly of the opinion that our government knows a lot more about the subject than they are telling, and thus, if the government released all of its information we would probably have proof of interplanetary spacecraft. We have never believed this to be the case. In the early 1950s, the government fretted that UFOs might be a threat to national security, and once they determined this was probably not the case, they tended to lose interest. The media attitude toward the subject is not because of government censorship, but because superficially, UFOs lend themselves to ridicule; because there is never any final proof; and because more urgent things are always going on! The media attitude reflects the public's attitude. Most people do have a mild interest in flying saucers, but especially in this country, our thinking is dominated by career and other monetary considerations. Since there seems to be no urgency about it, the UFO subject is relegated to an intellectual pursuit - only important to a handful of intellectuals and to the relatively few people who have had personal experiences. There is, in general, no motive to pursue the subject vigorously. Especially since 9-ll, our focus is on survival. Just a few weeks ago, when a UFO appeared on radar near Washington, D.C., the government took it very seriously for a short time; but once it became clear that there was no threat, the matter was forgotten! We of "Smear" strongly believe there is a genuine scientific mystery here, probably not involving visitors in 3-D interplanetary spaceships. What it does involve, we do not know; but science is advancing so rapidly that someday - maybe as soon as the next few years - an objective solution will emerge. In the meanwhile, the subject will remain irrelevant to everyday life for most people. Perhaps "Smear" too has become increasingly irrelevant, but we intend to press on! |
