| PEVERLY MISSOURI UFO SIGHTINGS 10/7/03 For years there has been UFO Sightings in Peverly Missouri , which is located 45 minutes from Saint Louis. It has been on television several times. I do not know if it is a hoax or not. The people of Peverly say they see them around four o'clock everyday. Alien craft's are suppose to come up out of a lake somewhere there.. Thank you ...Mary Sutherland ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11-30-03 Response I think that it is a misspelling and where the person that sent you the information got it I have no idea because I have not been able to find any reference to ufo sitings around Pevely, MO and except for a couple of references there is no mention of Peverly, MO, as I said it is not on any map anywhere. I think the person is refering to the sightings in the Piedmont area and that was over twenty years ago. As to how they got Piedmont and Pevely mixed up I don't know because they are quite a distance apart. There was quite a thorough investigation by Professor Harley Rutledge from the, then, Southeast Missouri State College, physics department and although he didn't find anything he said that did not prove that anything had happened because he was able to get to the area until after the flap was pretty much over. He wrote a very good book on the investigation and I attended a lecture he gave on the investigation and even volunteered to add my photographic expertise if he ever decided to go back . I think since he had problems getting funding for what he did do he decided not to try again. Also the sightings just seemed to go away even though Professor Rutledge said there was absolutely no reason to think that they were a hoax.
