WISCONSIN UFO REPORTS 2003 Occurred: Several Weeks before Christmas A couple weeks before Xmas, my husband and I went out to dinner at a restaurant just north of Appleton, Wisconsin. As we were returning, we spotted something over the city that intrigued us. It looked like a large piece of sheet metal or some other material falling rapidly straight downward over the city, probably about a mile or so from where we were on the highway. The edges were glowing as if on fire and it left a smoke trail as it fell. It disappeared just before it hit the ground. We have no clue what it was, so I made an image depicting what we saw and am attaching it. What do you think? COAST TO COAST Occurred : 12/22/2003 18:00 Location: Madison, WI Shape: Other Duration:20 seconds Shape -changing brown "tarp" I've finally decided to send this in after hearing of two other similar UFO descriptions in the last month on Unknowncountry.com. One was about a dark-colored form changing parachute-like (not the round kind but the more oblong or oval ones) and the other a brownish jelly-fish like one that appeared to be "swimming". The one I saw, I at first thought to be a orangish brown tarp or plastic sheet or trash bag that had been blown up into the wind and was just blowing along while slowing undulating or changing shape as though made of a very light material. And it very steadily traveled in its general direction, from north to south over the Isthmus/Willy St. area. (Unfortunately I did not think to check if it was actually going with the prevailing wind - though I do remember there being only a light wind that day.) It did not radically change shapes or take on any definite common shapes, but just stayed generally oblong (like the "parachute" story). The sky was clear and it was a around sunset so the object was fairly well lit. However I had hard time focusing on it. Sound-wise I heard nothing from it and the neighborhood was quiet. It was about the size of my fingernail at arms length. Moved right to left about a fist width every second or two. I watched it for about ten seconds then it became obscured behind tree branches so I walked down the block about 40 ft to a clear view. But in the process I looked down for a second, and when I got to the clearing I could not find the object again. Very puzzling.NUFORC ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. It was much lower and larger than any shooting star or comet and did not have a tail. Occurred : 12/5/2003 17:30 Location: Milwaukee, WI Shape: Light Duration:30 sec two "star-like" objects in southern sky, right light flashed brightly then disappeared, left light started to "fall" then did the same. While waiting for the lights to change on the corner of Lake Drive and Kenwood Blvd, facing south, I noticed in the clear southern sky two "star-like" objects that were very close together (the one on the right was up higher than the one on the left). Within seconds of spotting these lights I witnessed the higher of the two flash very brightly, then disappear. Immediately after that the second light began to "fall" then flashed very brightly and was gone. - That was it.NUFORC Occurred : 12/1/2003 18:20 Location: Milwaukee, WI Shape: Light Duration:2-3 seconds Large, bright star-like object with no tail traverses the sky east to west; seen through city lights My wife and I were traveling west bound on I-94 within the city limits, just east of the Zoo interchange which is around 8-10 miles west of Lake Michigan. We noticed a broght light moving very fast from east to the west, north-west; from overhead to around 10 to 15 degrees above the horizon. It was approximately the size of 3 or 4 stars put together and was whiteish in color. The city street lights were so bright that I said that it must be low to be seen below the clouds. Once we got out of the city, we saw the stars come out because the sky was clear so this object had to be very bright to be seen by us through the street lights. It covered the distance in the sky in 2 seconds and did not leave a trail. I am familiar with seeing satelites, conventional aircraft, and meteors and this definately was not one of those. Two other couples at our family get-together saw the object as well. I am trying to convince them to write a report. The lights were in a straight line and seemed to remain stationary for about 4 minutes or so. I heard no noise and the lights continued to remain in place. The formation gradually moved very slowly due north, again silent. The lights continued to dim and brighten alternately. On November 20, 2003 I had been taking a nap and at 6:00 p.m. "something" told me to wake up and open my eyes. As I did, the first thing I saw was a big white light in the sky across the street. It was so big and nearby, it could have only been coming from a helicopter. But it was an unusually warm day in WI and I still had my windows open. Had it been a helicopter, there would have been loud noise coming from it. There was no noise whatsoever. I watched it for about 15 seconds and it went behind the house across the street so I lost sight of it. It just silently glided out of my view. About 15 minutes later again "something" told me to take the dogs outside. My dogs never go out at that time (they're on a regular pattern and had gone out a little earlier already). As I took the second dog outside, I looked up in the sky and telepathically said: "Are you still in the area?" Right then I noticed a plane going overhead. I said out loud: "Oh, that's just a stupid plane again!" And before I finished that sentence, I saw something else and said: "THAT's not a plane!" Not too far behind the plane was a configuration of three amber circles enclosed in a amber rectangle. It glowed amber as if it was pure energy and a sentient being in and of itself. As it glided through the atmosphere, it didn't fly straight like human made planes do, rather it traveled on an angle. I watched it only for a few seconds before it just disappeared. For character reference: I am a Disclosure Project Representative, have worked directly with Golden Eagle, have investigated the two WI Crop Circles this summer, been healed from PID from an ET in 1995, am a Natural Healer and Metaphysical Teacher/Student. Outer perimeter of ring was about the size of the moon as you see it on a clear night. You could liken the rings visual appearance as ghostly. (After calling the other witness outside to take a look, went back in the house so cannot say for how long the occurrence lasted.) The hazy appearance could have been because of the heavy cloud cover. (Very close to the top of the house, like the same distance a plane has come close to the house during low ceiling due to cloud cover.)NUFORC Occurred : 11/11/2003 20:50 Location: Paddock Lake, WI Shape: Sphere Duration:2 seconds Silvery sphere, glowing white, headed southwest very quickly from Paddock Lake, Wisconsin While driving on a dark side street headed south-west and coming to a complete stop, I saw a silvery sphere glowing a white light color. It was extrememly fast and the light seemed to be coming from the front of the object and encompasing it. The object flew over my head and continued in a southwesterly direction. It was fairly high up in the air and it was about the size of a superball (large gumball) if held at arms length.NUFORC Occurred : 11/6/2003 11:30 Location: New Richmond, WI Shape: Oval Duration:2 min. I was driving along on I94 about 25 miles from St. Paul, Mn. I seen an oval shape object moving south...it was approximately 1 mile away, it was moving too slow for a plane and the shape was not near a helicopter. Just towards the end of my siting, it gained speed and disapeared.NUFORC Occurred : 10/18/2003 21:30 Location: Mukwonago, WI Shape: Fireball Duration:20 minutes Fireball flew over our heads on a clear night. My neighbor, my fiance and I were outside having a campfire when out of the corner of my eye I saw something in the sky. I looked up and saw a fireball. I said "What is that?" Everyone looked and no one knew what it was. It came from the northwest and was going to the southeast in a perfectly straight line. It flew over our heads about 1,000 feet up. It looked like a big ball of fire. It was the same exact color as fire. There was no sound and no shadows. At first I thought it was a hot air baloon, but it was going to fast and we couldn't see anything other than the fireball. My fiance thought it was a meteor or asteroid, but there was no contrail and it was not falling. When it got behind our trees, my fiance and I got up and walked back to the tree line. We could still see it in the distance. It had now changed directions and was going south. I ran inside and grabbed the camcorder. After a few minutes, I came back inside and got the tripod. By now, we were not sure how far away it was. We just left the camcorder alone and sat by the fire talking about how weird this was. When we watched what we had recorded, it flickered a little - brighter and dimmer. Then it would fade away to nothing. It would reapper in about a minute. Then do the same thing over agin. Until it finally just disappeared. I called our local police department, the county police and two neighboring police departments, but they had no reports about anything in the sky. My neighbor was talking to another neighbor (with her daughter there also) about what we had saw and the daughter looked at her mom and said "see I'm not nuts." She had seen a fireball about 2 weeks ago outside their living room window. We can come up with no reasonable explaination as to what it was other than a UFO. None of us have been able to stop thinking about it and are all always looking up to see if we can see it again.NUFORC Occurred : 10/14/2003 23:50 Location: Trego, WI Shape: Unknown Duration:1 minute Oct 14th, 2003 - about midnight, huge ufo in eastern sky in Trego, Wisconsin It was very huge; sitting silently in the eastern night sky. It was at a complete stop, clouds were going by it, but it remained still. Blue, red and yellow lights flashed across it's front. I could not discern the shape,but it was big - it was above the clouds, above my barn and it appeared to be approximately half as wide as my barn (20 feet). I ran in the house to get my camera; which took me no more than 30 seconds tops, and when I went back outside, it had completely disappeared; I waited for five minutes to see if it would return, but it did not. My dog had been barking which is why I went outside. Earlier in the evening, I had been trying to make calls on my phone and first the calls would not go through, when they finally did. the line was staticy and we were cut-off. Also, approximately two hours earlier, what sounded like a helicopter flew very low over my house. I went outside to see what exactly it was, but I couldn't see anything in the night sky - it was very loud though and scared my dogs.NUFORC Occurred : 9/4/2003 22:15 Location: Shoto/Two Rivers, WI Shape: Light Duration:3-4 min. white light that seemed to disapear then reapear further down. plane spotted in same area. At about 10:15 p.m. I was driving down old Q when i spotted a light moving slowly above the tree line. I'm not sure about the direction but as I turned onto Shoto road it(the light) was on my left. I live on Shoto road about a half mile from where I saw the u.f.o. It was a constant light with no blinking lights or anything of that sort. I actually pulled over on Shoto road to watchas I was a little bewildered. There was a high flying plane in the same direction as the u.f.o. I could see the two crafts out my left window as I pulled over. On the plane I could make out the two flashing wing lights, but the u.f.o. was a constant white light. I watched it above the tree line for about 3 to 4 minutes then it seemed to disapear, only to reapear not far away. I lost sight of it so I turned around and followed shoto down to Q(not old Q). I turned onto highway Q but couldn't find it again. The craft moved at a constant speed never speeding up or slowing down. I'm interested to see if the pilot in this area reports it. I'm not easily excited and I'm also not a u.f.o. buff or necessarily interested in the paranormal. I hope to find other witnesses to confirm my sighting, although it was very short, it left a lasting impression on me! There were no clouds at the time.NUFORC Occurred : 8/31/2003 22:30 Location: Madison, WI Shape: Light Duration:10 Sec. Bright light flying at a low level and high rate of speed - much faster than any aircraft and too low to be a conventional space craft. My wife and I were driving from Sun Prairie to Madison at 10:30 pm on 8/31/03, just north of the airport. My wife was sleeping at the time. I saw a bright light screeming across the sky, from southwest to northeast, at a fairly low level (approximately 10,000-15,000 foot range). It was traveling much faster than any jet plane, and my first thought was meteorite - but it was flying horizontal, not in a downward direction, and there was no trail behide it. It was also flying much faster than any craft that would have been flying in or out of the airport - and at a direction not in line with any runways. There was one airplane coming into the airport from the oposite (south) side of the city, and the pilot may have seen what I saw, although he/she was likely preoccupied in preparation for landing. I only saw it for a few seconds as it was moving so fast. When we arrived at home, I told my wife about it. The next day, she heard part of a brief report on either CNN or Headline News about a light in the sky seen somewhere - but didn't catch any details. My wife leaves for work at 0430. AT 0400 I went out to have a smoke. I was looking out over Dane County regional airport at the stars. One started moving from side to side then in circles. I called my wife out in case I was seeing things. She saw the same thing. We observed it till just before she was going to leave. It then took of like shot and disappeared. It was NOT an airplane. They don't move up and down and side to side. I'm just a 63 yr. year old retired guy and my wife is a 58 year old walmart stocker. Living by the airport I know how planes move and they sure don't move like this thing did. ThanksNUFORC Occurred : 8/13/2003 22:20 Location: Green Bay, WI Shape: Circle Duration:3 minutes Silent red/yellow lighted craft north to south in Green Bay night sky. At 10:20pm on Wed. August 13th, my spouse and I were out in our back yard, a few miles east of Austin Straubel airport in Green Bay, WI. We noticed a large reddish twinkling star, which we found to be moving. It began at 45 degrees up in the south sky, and proceeded to 90 degrees straight above, then flew continuously in a straight line to the north. It has distinguishable yellow and red lights that were twinkling. It made no sound. It was approx. 10-15 times larger than a star, but only about 1/10 the size of the full moon. ((NUFORC Note: Wife's report of same event. We spoke with her at considerable length, and we found to her be exceptionally objective in her description of the sighting. PD))NUFORC Occurred : 8/13/2003 22:20 Location: Green Bay, WI Shape: Other Duration:3 minutes T-Shaped silent craft traveling northwest over Green Bay sky. While looking at the moon and trying to find the planet mars (which was to be close to the earth that night). My wife and i happened to stare at the sky and stars above when we noticed an object that appeared to be moving. After taking a second glance this T-shaped object was moving from the southeast to the northwest. It was higher than that of an airplane yet not as high as what the stars would be. It had a row of lights in the front that were red and yellowish in color. The lights were twinkling rather fast and behind that was a glob of lights (same color as front row of lights). Whatever this object was it made no sound and moved steadily through the sky. I can further assure you that I am of a sound mind, have never been in trouble with the law, and do not have the imagination to cook up a story like this. I rarely drink alcohol and was not drinking at this time. The only skeptism that there could be about me is that I do have an interest in extra terrestrials ,as I have had many dreams of them recently. THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE DREAMS. I have not told this experience to anyone and I do not seek any attention or money. I have lived in this small Farm house, surrounded by open fields, for seven years and have lived within a half-mile of this farm my entire life. I am extremely familiar with this location and what the sky looks like at night. Two days ago, sometime after 11:pm. I went to the bedroom to prepare for bed. all the lights in the home were turned off. As soon as i entered the room I instantly noticed a VERY BRIGHT pure white ball in the eastern sky outside the window. i went directly to the window and watched as it seemed to "bounce" and move slightly. I looked up at the stars and looked back at it but it seemed much too bright and much too close to the ground to be a star. I kept watching it and every time I started to think of some sort of an explanation, it would immediately do something that would rule that explanation out. For instance, I would think it was a star and it would begin to move a little bit more. I would think maybe it's a plane, and it would bounce directly up, then drop down. I thought maybe an erratic helicopter pilot but then it dropped down from side to side like paper in the wind. after evrything it did, it would always go back to it's original position. Grasping for a more broad explanation I thought maybe someone was up in a silo on some nearby farm with a flashlight or something. it changed color. maybe there was some possible reflection from something or some kind of atmospheric phenonmnon. It was really hard to tell how far away it was. I thought to myself "i've been waiting to see a ufo, but you're gonna have to do better than that!" Before I finished my thought, A GIANT YELLOW BALL appeared INSTANTLY out the window, it was to the right of the first object. It was MUCH CLOSER. It had rays of yellow light emitting from it. the rays waved like fire but were exactly the same tone and color as the object. Sharp lines and triangles. This was the real deal. this was actually happening. I felt excited and amazed as the object glowed and the rays made beautiful patterns in the sky. I am certain that it was putting on a show for me. I am certain that it knew i was looking at it and I felt them looking at me. I could hardly look away as it was very beautiful and very mesmorizing. I looked briefly at th! e first object which was in exactly the same spot as before, only now the ground underneath it was illuminated like daytime. there was no streaks of light or rays comming down. just the light in the sky and the lit up circle in the field, nothing between them. There were some sounds from the back door of the house but I was unable to pay attention. looking at the second object and realizing that it was looking / communicating with me, I began to get frightened. It started to move like " S " and when it came around the second turn it came directly at me very very fast. My heart was pounding. I thought "st st st st st stop!" and before i finished my thought it stopped. i started to tell it that i was scared. the rays of the object retracted. i said i'm sorry but im not ready for this yet. it turned blue. i may have had another thought, im not sure what but then the object turned deep red for a moment then back to yellow and slowly moved outside the view of the window. i ran to the other window where it should have been but could not see anything. Looking out the first window I saw the first object was still there. I ran out of the room to peer out other windows but found nothing. I ran back to my bedroom to the first object but it was gone. I looked at the clock but i just can't remember what time it ended, nor do I recall exactly what time it bagan. I feel like it happened somtime after 11pm. I will say that the object was friendly and pleasant. it was very beautiful and i felt somehow like i had just turned away an old friend. They seemed so kind and they made me feel so special that i really feel guilty after asking it to leave. Another strange thought is that I kept expecting them to return last night. Even though they didn't. i really feel like they know who i am, and will return for another visit. I hope to be more brave next time. I miss them.NUFORC Occurred : 6/16/2003 23:30 Location: River Falls, WI Shape: Light Duration:on going multiple lights seen moving in all directions. This is my first multi-sighting. At approx 11:30pm 06/16/03 one of the men who resides in a 1/2 way house I manage came to me and said "for the last 3 nights we have seen stars move across the sky". I went out side and looked up at the night sky that was fairly clear but some high thin clouds were blocking parts of the view, however the major features were visable...Big Dipper ect.. At first I didnt see anything so I went back inside, then a minute later I heard one of the guys say loudly "there's one"! I ran outside and saw a light move quickly from N to S running parallel with the Big Dippers' handle. After about 20 seconds it disappeared, in that time span it had moved nearly the lenght of the visable sky from N to S. About that same time I spotted another light moving S to N at about the same speed in the eastern sky about 30 degrees east of the first light, this light disappeared behind some high clouds and I lost track of it, less then a minute later I saw another light move very quickly from W to E but also lost it in high clouds. What I thought first was a meteor shower was certainly not that ! Neither was it commercial aircraft because there was atleast 4 in that time period flying E to W to land at either St Paul Holman field or MSP and they very easy to see and follow because River Falls is in a landing corridor for both airports, although the jets all usually fairly high up yet when they pass overhead. I can get three others to confirm this and probably much more because they have been watching this for several nights now! To me it seemed like these lights were on "patrol" for something being there were many more than the three I clearly saw, dozens have been seen by two of our residents, I plan on watching atleast 2 more hours tonight and then again tomorrow!NUFORC Occurred : 6/6/2003 23:30 Location: Madison, WI Shape: Circle Duration:few minutes I drive a cement truck. While on site job, I an a few othe people sited an object in the skiy. It was between 11:00 and 12;OO A. M. It was circular in shape. Saw 3 lights. Very quiet. Stayed in one area. for a few seconds. and vanished. Never have seen anythhing like this..NUFORC Occurred : 5/27/2003 22:30 Location: Racine, WI Shape: Circle Duration:2 seconds A round aircraft with white, yellow, and red lights on it which lasted 2-3 seconds. It appeared and then disappeared before my eyes. I was in my hot tub and looked up at the sky. All of a sudden I saw what appeared to be a round air craft with white, yellow, and red lights on it. It lasted approx. 2-3 seconds and then disappeared. I thought it was a plane that went behind a cloud, but then I realized there were no clouds in the direction I was looking. I did not hear any noise from the object. Usually when I see planes over head, I can also hear them. I was in my back yard on the deck which faces east. I saw the object in the east and a little north of my house. I live right near lake Michigan and Wisconsin Electric Power Plant is north of us. I have heard from people in the past that they have sighted UFO'S around the power plant over the lake, but this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this. I thought it may be an iridium flare, but it did not dim. It traveled at a relatively constant speed, but it jumped, hesitated and weaved as it traveled eastward. It was not a meteor, no trail or pieces breaking off. I thought it might be a tumbling satellite, but it seemed way to bright. It made no sound. I watched it til it disappeared over the horizon. Very strange object. I spend a lot off time looking skyward, using my telescope, watching and photographing the aurora, but i have never seen an objectlike this.NUFORC Occurred : 5/1/2003 02:00 Location: Milwaukee, WI Shape: Formation Duration:2 minutes FIVE SMALL FLICKERS CAME AND FLICKERED FAST AND THEN CAME TOGETHER AND LEFT. There was a sall white flicker, then another, and another till there where five. They seemed to have made a box with one craft on the outside moving away. Then the others followed. All the other four ones did was flicker at the same half second pace together and then came together in a line and went on the same path as the first one that came and left did. As they left a blueish color replaced the white light. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous. PD))NUFORC Occurred : 4/24/2003 21:30 Location: Plover, WI Shape: Light Duration:7 seconds 4 bright orange lights in a horizontal line "leapfrogged" each other a few times before fading away. There were approximately 4 bright orange lights, appearing to be a hundred feet high, probably less than a mile away. They were in a horizontal line, maybe 20 feet spacing between each one. (estimates are difficult, hard to tell how far away they were). It appeared as though the right-most light split into two, and the new light floated off farther to the right, and the left-most light faded out. So, in this leap-frog fashion, there seemed to always be 4 lights in the sky. They "leapfrogged" 3 or 4 times while I was watching. Then they faded away. This all happened in less than 10 seconds. This was in the southwest corner of Plover, Wisconsin, appearing to be near Highway 54. It was a mostly clear, warm spring evening.NUFORC Occurred : 4/12/2003 23:06 Location: Eau Claire, WI Shape: Formation Duration:30 seconds 3 lights flying west to east 4 to 5 times airline speed maneuvered as if one or on same wave length. Visiting in Eau Claire, WI we were outside around 11pm. Enjoying spring weather. The night sky had a hint of thin clouds. The moon was about 60%. There were plenty of stars visible. I happened to look at the western sky which was towards Minneapolis and St. Paul and I saw 3 unusual lights coming towards us. I told friend to look as they were flying in a tight formation and at a speed that appeared to be at least 4 to 5 times that of airlines. We both watched as they flew from west to east in a tight formation. How could I know their altitude? I would guess 30 to 40 thousand feet. When they got near above us they changed places and revolved. They appeared triangular. They maneuvered in a precise manner. I have seen planes do stunts but nothing this precise at such a speed. They went back to a straight formation but a few seconds later maneuvered again. It was amazing and we needed to share this but unfortunately we had no camera. There was no sound nor contrails. They disappeared to our eyes but that was probably due to the thin layer of clouds and the distance. It appeared to me that what I saw was 3 individual lights but they moved as one. I have seen satellites, planes, meteors, and some other things I couldn't explain. But this was special. I would like to know if others saw this or if any radar from military, airlines, or pilots saw this. We made the comment that if not extraterrestial then it has to be something very special that we have.NUFORC Occurred : 4/5/2003 13:00 Location: Trevor, WI Shape: Unknown Duration:5 seconds Invsible object casts large fast moving shadow on ground Independently and a different times my daughter and I observed a large fast moving shadow on the ground. The shadow was larger than an average single family home and had a defined shape yet the sky was clear and no airplanes were present. ((NUFORC Note: We have received a number of reports like this one of shadows passing seemingly silently over the ground, with no apparent cause for the shadow from above. PD))NUFORC Occurred : 3/7/2003 18:00 Location: Superior, WI Shape: Light Duration:second or two My brother in law told me about a sighting he saw in the area he described as "over lake superior" of a large comet tailed light decending over the lake. This could have been meteorological, however it was extremely large. He said it looked like something very large, "the size of a stadium" breaking up on entry into the atmosphere, although it only had one piece, not multiple pieces falling. This was on sunday the 8th he told me, times listed above are aproximate. He said he saw this at around dusk describing the 7th of March, the night prior. The interesting things is that this incident was on the local evening news, with reports from as far north as, I think, Ely MN around 60 miles north of superior/duluth.NUFORC Occurred : 2/25/2003 19:25 Location: Shawano, WI Shape: Duration:40 to 60 seconds redish square lights that ran in a sequence Redish orange square lights seen. First we saw 1, then two, then 3, then 4, and then 5. They appeared to be like a running light in a straight line. This lasted for a very short time and was gone. Within another 20 seconds or so, it reappeared and did the same thing. Another couple that we met later were approximately 2 miles ahead of us and had seen the exact same thing.NUFORC Occurred : 2/24/2003 19:00 Location: Homestead, FL Shape: Unknown Duration:40 seconds Witnessed a UFO sighting in south Florida moving very rapidly. I was outside in my front yard at about 7:00 PM it was starting to get dark. I looked up at the sky and noticed what looked to be a star that was moving very rapidly. I called my sons Nicky and CJ to come look and when we came back out we saw it for about another 20 seconds moving to the north and we were comparing it to the stars.It looked very similar. Then it disapeared into the sky.NUFORC Occurred : 2/24/2003 19:00 Location: Rudolph, WI Shape: Flash Duration:5 min flashes of bright yellow "stars" A flash of light apeared while driving mid horizon, it was like a bright large yellow star with a small star on it 11:00 & a dim light at 7:00 clustered together & a second formation apeared idenical about 2:00 from it at some distance a split second later... & then both gone...just when I thought I had been "seeing things" the same thing acourred only faster & several times in mid horizon... I lost sight because of trees & then saw a few more "flashes" & then many red lights - possibly jets scrambling... I was at my destination & went in to find some one, by the time I returned outside, no lights in the skyNUFORC Occurred : 2/23/2003 00:10 Location: Wisconsin Dells, WI Shape: Unknown Duration:1210am-1230am Silent, rotating lights, strange movements and speed. Witnessed by 2 police officers. My wife thought she saw a strange star that had "rotating lights" and called me to the kitchen window that faces south west. I looked out in time to see this star go from a stationary position to moving at a very odd angle and increasing speed. From its distance and location in the sky, the speed appeared to be very great as it moved closer to our home, but still well off in the distance. It then stopped and hovered, then dropped what my wife thought was about 500 feet. It continued to hover and then move. The speed at which it moved was too fast for a helicopter. It eventually got close enough to our house that I thought I could hear it. I stepped outside and watched it for a while and it made no noise. The lights were red, blue, green, and white and the white light got very intense at times. It continued to hover and move and move up and down and side to side. It then stayed stationary for over ten minutes. I am a ((public employee)) and called a friend of mine who was on duty to witness this thing. He is very skeptical and he is also an experimental pilot and flight enthusiast. He admitted that the movements and lights were very odd. It is now twenty minutes since he left to try to get a better view in a different part of our city. It is still hovering and has not moved for a long time. ((NUFORC Note: We have corresponded with the witness to explore whether the object might have been a celestial body, perhaps the star, "Sirius." At the time indicated by the witness, Sirius, a bright, "twinkling," star would be visible in the southwestern sky. We have invited them to look tonight, or on the next clear night, in the same area of the sky at the same time. Sirius, and any other celestial body, always appears to hop around the sky. PD)) ((LATER REPORT FROM SAME WITNESS))NUFORC Occurred : 2/8/2003 05:30 Location: Beloit/Milwaukee (between), WI Shape: Disk Duration:1 hour The object seen was saucer shaped with a dome, emitting dotted or tracer type lights from the top and bottom. The encounter took place as we were traveling eastbound on Interstate 43 between Beloit and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 8, 2003 At approximately 5:20 to 5:30 a.m., I noticed a round shaped light in the southern sky that seemed unusual, as it did not resemble a star. Just east of Beloit, the light became larger and seemed to be moving from the distant south toward us. The light gradually became larger and started paralleling us as we traveled eastbound. As the light approached, I saw a saucer shaped object with what appeared to be "light showers" coming from the object. I then pointed out the object to my husband (who was driving)and my daughter and we all observed the same scene. The object was still very distant, but had gradually become more visible. As we continued to travel, the object continued to parallel us, while gradually becoming larger in size. As it became larger, we could see more and more light showers coming from the top and bottom. The light showers coming from the top of the object were white light colored and projected from the top in a spraying pattern similar to dotted lines or machine gun tracers. However, the lights were abbreviated in length and did not project a great distance. From the bottom of the object, similar lights projected at 45 to 75 degree angles, but were red, green, and purple or "tracer" lights. As we watched the object, we could gradually begin to see a shape. It looked like an oblong saucer shape with a lighted dome above it. For a while it traveled horizontally in the same direction we were traveling and we could see what appeared to be flashing light patterns criss-crossing the body of the object similar to static electricity experiments. The lights were flashing in diagonals criss-crossing from both directions. The object appeared to stop and hover (paralleling us, but still far south of us) and drop behind our position as we continued traveling eastbound. However, on several occasions, the object appeared to suddenly move eastbound to a! positio n ahead of our direction, and then hover for awhile. On a couple of occasions, the object seemed to turn. On one of these occasions, it appeared to look like a full saucer-shape, and we saw it out-lined completely as red and green lights lit up across the saucer-shape, blinking on and off as they came across the saucer. We watched this phenonenon for over a hour. As we came into Milwaukee, the object was still paralleling us. We saw a plane circling from the northeast, taking off from the airport and believe that someone from that plane surely had to see this object also. At this time, it became dawn, approximately 6:30a.m., and the object suddenly began to climb rapidly southeastward at a 70 degree angle until it was once again just a small dot in the sky and disappeared into a bank of dark clouds. My husband, daughter, and I all watched the object and concluded it was definitely neither a plane nor a helicopter.NUFORC Occurred : 1/23/2003 06:20 Location: Alma Center, WI Shape: Chevron Duration:2 min I was coming home from work. It was very cold and the night or morning sky was clear. For the past two mornings just before sunrise I have been seeing a brightly colored moving object off to the west. I thought it was a plane or something but this morning I found out different! It was out this morning and it was closer to me and appearing and disappearing but moving toward me. It came to about 100 feet of my car and stopped. I could not beleive what I was seeing! I got out of the car and saw a craft, green in color with a large frosted white dome on top of it. It was hovering about 20 feet off the ground. I could see movement in the dome shape fixture on top but saw only vauge shapes but there was very definately something or someone in this object. I got in my car and drove off at high speed as I was very scared. The object made a swing above me and moved off to the east at a very high speed. I know I saw this this morning and am very puzzled on what this could be. I thought his would be the place to report this. I will make a drawing and send it if you like. Thanks for listening to my case.NUFORC Occurred : 1/23/2003 02:54 Location: Prescott, WI Shape: Unknown Duration:Aprrox @ mins Helicopter like object shoot across the sky like a meteroid, as it was chased by Military Aircraft, and left a strange trail. I awoke to a load nosie, of a low flying F-xx model US Aircraft, in formation with another jet. It was so close to the ground, I noted it was in the typical gray livery. This isn't unusal howeverm because I leave near Minneapolis Internetional Airport, that has a military base, national gaurd, and Airforce. I glanced at the Gerneral Electric Alarm Clock which is next to my bedroom window, the Time was exactly 2:54, as the min just changed. My window is facing north, but I can see a large view, because its the second story, towards the St. Croix River Valley. I live on a hillside, and it is very open. It was a clear night, with moonlight which reflected off the ice and snow. I glanced out my window to see the typical 777, or other Northwest Airlines Airliner enroute to the airport on a decent path to MSPIA. however, a loud sound was rumbling in the vally, the Jets were out of sight at this time. I saw a object in the distance about 1/2 a mile away from my house. Visabiliy was very good, and I could see River Falls, Wi, 8 miles from my house, nice and bright. I saw, what appeared to my at the time (and dismissed as) a helicopter, hovering with very bright lights, I thought maybe an accident was on Hwy 29, and it was the MedEvac Helocopter, but this wasn't any helicopter I have seen before. It was very hard to makeout, but it was just one very bright light, no green and red tail lights. As I got out of bed, and looked closer (approch the window) i noted it was a triangular thing (best way to put it) As I watched this thing hover back and forth for about one min, the sound of turbine engines got very loud, enough to wake up my dogs. The military aircraft reversed direction in a loop and headed towards the light. They very very close the the ground, but gained altitude quickly. As they flew over my house, the object got brighter, then shoot like a metoriod accrose the screen leaving a trail like a con trail left by a jumbo jet, however this light left a trail that lasted about 30 seconds. A! s the Mi litary Aircraft approched the trail, they broke formation, and went out of sight. At first I thought, it was military training, but after I thought about it more, it was very unual. That day, I was talking about airplanes with my friend, who lives closer to River Falls, in the Area of the craft,he saw the formation, and the light, and talked to one of his friends at the hospital, and their MedEvac helcopter stayed ground all night. He also saw the trail, and a glow (aura) that stayed in the area for a good 30 seconds.NUFORC Occurred : 1/16/2003 Location: Sturgeon Bay, WI Shape: Light Duration:so far 25 min. Two bright lights over Lake Michigan, one full of colors, the other still light, same distance above water. Two bright lights were over Lake Michigan, so close to the shore at first I thought it was a helicopter or plane coming in, but they just hovered and didn't move position. The one on the right was as bright as a planet like Venus only twinkled with blue, red, green, and yellow and in looking through the spotting scope which isn't very strong, looked bow shaped. The one on the left, maybe a mile - 2 (hard to tell distance over water and above) from the other one was at the exact same distance above the water, but did not twinkle at all, just a very bright yellow light. I noticed them at 6:30 P.M. They are still there at 7:00 P.M. PD))NUFORC Occurred : 1/15/2003 19:00 Location: Reedsburg, WI Shape: Fireball Duration:30 seconds I saw 6 bright orange fireballs appear slowly then dissappear over Wisconsin Dells. I took the dog out to do her business and saw a very bright orange fireball in the direction of Wisconsin Dells. Within seconds another appeared then another - all in a row. After the third one the first started to dissappear. The fifth one appeared above the fourth. After the fifth dissappeared, the sixth one appeared very high up in the sky. I stayed outside for awhile but didn't see anything else. The lights I saw appeared over a neighbors house. At first I thought it was fireworks due to the flake out festival, but they didn't have any fireworks until the weedendNUFORC Occurred : 1/14/2003 19:20 Location: Greenwood, WI Shape: Changing Duration:1 hr. 5-6 orange(bright) glowing balls appear, one at a time then flicker out. it first appeared as a cessna plane approx. 500 feet coming my way, I was driving my car, i stopped immediately got out and it was no where! 5 minutes later orange glowing ball, bright 3 sec. then flickered out. 1 min. later 5-6 bright yellow glowing balls in a horizontal row with a slight bend, first one flickers out then 2 then all goes out. 1/2 hr. later driving home still. one bright ball then immediately after the one shows up 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 each within 1/2 from each other then they all go out. ((FOLLOW-UP COMMUNICATION WITH WITNESS)) they said they did not have any excercises in our area. we are approx. 60 miles away from tomah. we are in greenwood. it looked like the glowing orange balls were approx. 10 miles away. i know cause i seen the military flares going off at night from 50 miles away and they look cool but you could tell they are 50 miles away. there is no military base in or around greenwood. i seen them tonight on and off for about 1 hr. thats how long it takes me to get to my apt. in eau claire. ((NUFORC RESPONSE)) Dear Mr. ((deleted)) I am confused, then. If the military says they were not military, why do you think...or why did you state earlier...that they are of military origin? Also, how do you know they are "50 miles" away? Lights in the night sky are very difficult to determine a range to, probably impossible, without triangulation. Thank you! ((WITNESS RESPONSE)) it was probably military flares. ((NUFORC Note: We have no idea what the witness observed. The first possibility to be ruled out, we feel, would be celestial bodies. We have chosen to post this report, principally because we have received so many other reports of orange or yellow lights in the nighttime sky. PD))NUFORC Occurred : 1/14/2003 19:00 Location: Wisconsin Dells, WI Shape: Light Duration:1 1/2 hours We saw 10 or more, very bright, beautifully colored round lights, darting very fast back and forth across the sky. We live in the country where it is very dark so had a good view. We have not talked to anyone else who saw these objects at this same time. My husband has seen similar objects before in this same area. This was my first sighting, and it was the most remarkable, awe inspiring thing I have ever seen and hope to see it again. The objects were very bright lights that seemed to be round and of numerous beautiful colors: pink, blue, yellow, white, purple, green. They were not all lit at the same time. One would go off and one or more others would come on. After the light went off at each sight, we could see small, dim white lights flowting around that area. Then there would be a break of 5 to 10 minutes and the round, colored objects would appear again in a different spot in the sky. The most dramatic display was a line of six in a row. They would take turns going on and off and the most lit at one time was three. We could see the shadow of those that were off when the others would light. This went on for maybe 10-20 seconds before they all disappeared. All would be dark and then it would start over with one or two lighting at one time in a different area. We viewed them from about 19:00-20:00 hours. Then there was a half hour before we saw two more. That was the last we saw of them. They seemed to dart around, moving very fast from one location to another. Shortly after we saw the first two or three we also noticed 5 airplanes seeming to be following them. We saw other planes but they didn't seem to be interested in these objects. The five planes however seemed to try and stay with or near the objects. When all the objects disappeared, so did the planes. ((FOLLOW-UP COMMUNICATION FROM WITNESS)) Similar sighting seen and reported on this site by others from Wisconsin I reported this earlier and may have had the date wrong. I said 1/15/03, but it may have been 1/14/03. I talked with a neighbor and she saw the same thing we did. She discribed the colors as amber. I said they were multi colored. In talking with my husband we agree with her. There are at least a couple others from WI that reported this same thing on 1/14.NUFORC Occurred : 1/14/2003 04:30 Location: West Bend, WI Shape: Duration:45 minutes There was a humming noise vibrating through our house for 45 minutes and we now believe it could only have came from above. My wife woke me at 4:30 AM on January 14, 2003 and asked me what the noise was. I got up and checked the entire house including the basement and didn't find anything inside. My wife suggested I open the window and we found that the noise was coming from outside. I looked at my neighbors' houses and to my surprise because of the volume of the noise, their lights were off. I couldn't see anything (I never thought of looking up because quite frankly I never believed in such things) and went back to bed and told my wife that it must be someone's house alarm. I quickly ruled that out because the noise wasn't a loud screaming noise but a steady humming noise that did go up and down slightly. When I was going through the house the noise was just as loud in the basement as it was on the second floor, leading me to think it was vibrating through the house. I also had a very strange feeling as if I was being watched but I didn't have a clue why. Finally, at about 5:15 AM when we lay in bed listening, it suddenly got quieter and then forceful and seemed to drift away. We never thought it was a UFO (and we still aren't sure) until after we asked a few neighbors and found that they didn't hear anything. I kick myself for not looking up because right now I can't think of any place else it could have come from. ((NUFORC Note: Many communities have reported such seemingly unexplained hums, including Monterey, CA; Taos, NM; and Seattle, WA. It is not known what causes the effect, but many have studied the phenomenon. The U. S. Navy, at one time, had an underground grid installed in Wisconsin, reportedly used for communicating withsubmerged submarines, using a very low-frequency ("long wave") electormagnetic transmission. The project was called "Project Sanguine," as I recall. That may explain the source of the hum reported by the witness, but that is a wild guess. I saw a bird flying along about 50 feet above the ground. It was just flying swiftly threw the wind....then BAM..it stoped dead flight......Like it hit a wall...I asure you that their was nothing in the way that could disrupt my view...and then fell and hit the road. Whatever it hit, it was transparent.
