| In Search of Shambhala Mary Sutherland Home Page Shambhala came to the attention of a larger western audience through the beliefs of the Theosophists. During the second half of the nineteenth century, a Russian named Madame Blavatsky founded the Theosophical Society, a widespread mystical movement that provided the west with its first significant exposure to eastern religions, particularly Buddhism. She claimed to be receiving secret teachings through telepathic and written messages from spiritual masters living somewhere behind the Himalayas. A number of her followers believed that the highest of these masters, "Lord of the World" resided in Shambhala, an invisible oasis hidden in the Gobi Desert. According to their belief, Shambhala was the spiritual centre of the world and the original source of the secret doctrines of Theosophy. |
| The Great Invocation Astrological Association of East Tennessee presents John Bergen's Sacred Vessel of the Mysteries: The Great Invocation: Word of Power, Gift of Love provided by Patricia Cronin Hardin, PMAFA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Great Invocation was introduced to our world in 1945 by a teacher who has been trying to help humanity for many years, primarily through dictating information to others, including H. P. Blavatsky and Alice A. Bailey. Apparently, the Hierarchy, which guides mankind from higher levels of existence, held this mantram for the first fully developed man. The Christ Consciousness worked through the form of Jesus 2,000 years ago in order to achieve the highest level of consciousness possible to man. In 1945, after World War II in which the dark forces almost overcame Earth, the Christ decided to return to Earth in physical form. To help him, this "Word of Power" was released as Christ's own mantram. Before that, only the Hierarchy had used this formula. Apparently, our Guides had made use of it for many centuries, waiting for mankind to be receptive to its premises. This great mantram is for everyone. There is no discrimination because of race, religion, sex or whatever. It is meant to bring us together so that we are open to the Christ Consciousness and are willing to help each other, putting aside individual needs and preferences. Jesus became the first perfect man, and he has the responsibility of bringing mankind to his level of understanding as soon as we are ready for this. He cannot and will not push us into this. We must be ready and open to Higher Levels of Consciousness. Numerology explains the message of The Great Invocation. Five is its root value and is the root value of the 21 key words, those capitalized There are five stanzas. Mankind is in the fifth root race and it is the fifth kingdom of the Hierarchy that is trying to help humanity. Our five senses are represented as is the five-pointed star of initiation, symbol of the perfected human. This suggests that the timing is ripe for its presentation to us. There are seven sentences in the Invocation, and its totality is shown by its relationship to the seven rays that operate on Earth, the total of seven root-races, seven rounds of existence, seven globes of development and seven chains within each planetary scheme. Seven represents the relative perfection of man before attaining Christ-Consciousness. It shows our future potential for development as clearly as we can understand it. Animal life on Earth became conscious of its free will when a personal representative of God incarnated to show us the way. This was on globe two in the second round during the second root-race. The gentle creatures of Lemuria existed as the third root-race, and Atlanteans of development beyond their capacity to control as the fourth root-race. Our present fifth rootrace is referred to as Aryan. "From the point of Light within the Mind of God" refers to the Oversoul, the God in all. "From the point of Love within the Heart of God " refers to the Hierarchy on a Cosmic level. "From the centre where the Will of God is known" refers to Shamballa, where a group of evolved beings operate on an etheric level in Tibet. This is a critical time for mankind. We can choose to be open to the Christ Consciousness or we can turn our backs to our detriment. In the latter case, Earth will again go backward as it did in the Atlantean times when scientists misused their considerable knowledge for their personal advantage. Instead, we can redeem Earth arid help it to be a sacred planet by following the Great Invocation and spreading this Good Word to others.
